Fixed-Removable Hybrid Prosthetic Techniques for the Terminal Dentition

Presented by KEITH PHILLIPS, DMD, MSD, and TIMOTHY HESS, DDS, MAGD

Fixed-removable hybrid prosthetic therapy has become a viable option for the edentulous or the patient with terminal dentition. Many implant companies have embraced this exciting treatment option, which includes Nobel Biocare’s popular All-on-4 treatment concept. However, hybrid prostheses can pose challenges even for the dentist who is skilled in removable prosthodontics and dental implants. This participation course will focus on walking the dentist through the procedures of the fixed-removable hybrid prosthesis start to finish. Emphasis will be placed on avoiding common prosthodontic treatment errors. Hands-on exercises will focus on day-of-surgery prosthetic techniques. Participants will learn how to prosthetically treat the fixed-removable hybrid patient as efficiently as possible.

In the review of surgical therapy, we will consider indications and contraindications for access therapy, regenerative and resective therapy. We will also review the Tutoplast process and bone grafting materials, and address the role tissue processing plays in achieving esthetic success. Finally maintenance protocols will be reviewed.
